Best Jeep Renegade Lift Kit Review

Best Jeep Renegade Lift Kit

Despite the “civilized” looks and excellent performance on polished highways, the Renegade is a highly capable off-roading beast. First of all, it’s got a powerful engine under the hood. Secondly, it’s highly customizable and easily modified to your liking. For example, you can install a brand-new set of larger-than-life tires to make your trips into the wilderness more fun. There’s a catch, though: with bigger tires, you’ll lose the factory ride quality. And, if you’re thinking about a lifted Jeep Renegade, that’s an option to consider.

Installing a Jeep Renegade lift kit can help you out. This will raise the suspension of your vehicle and give it extra ground clearance, allowing it to handle larger wheel sizes without compromising the ride quality. It will make the vehicle feel even smoother than before, eliminating all the bumps on your path. Not only that, but lift kits also make your Renegade look more stylish and rugged!

When it comes to lift kits for the Jeep Renegade, there are plenty of options on the market. However, not all of them offer top-notch performance and quality. I’ve got a list of the best Jeep lift kits right here. They’re equally reliable, efficient, and durable. Check them out!

1. TeraFlex – Best Rated Jeep Renegade Lift Kit

TeraFlex 1351200 Renegade

We start the list with TeraFlex – arguably the biggest brand when it comes to third-party kits. It has been manufacturing quality gear and equipment for Jeep for a really long time. But what does this kit have to offer to the average driver, though? First of all, it’s compatible with a really wide range of Jeep SUVs, which is always a big pro. On top of that, this is a US-made product. The engineers designed and manufactured it right here in the states.

But that’s not even its most significant standout point. With the Teraflex lift kit, you won’t have to worry about the camber and caster angles – it will take care of that without compromising the ride quality and handling. As for the downsides, it’s gonna take you up to 7-8 hours to install this kit. But, that’s not a big con, and as long as you do everything right, the whole thing will go super smoothly.

2. Rough Country – Best Jeep Renegade Suspension Lift Kit

Rough Country 2 Inch Lift Kit (fits) 2014-2020 Jeep Renegade | Front/Rear Suspension System | 62100

Here’s another state-of-the-art lift kit for the Renegade. Its biggest selling point is, of course, the affordable price tag, and drivers will get a tremendous value for that (relatively) low cost. Plus, Rough Country covers it with a generous lifetime replacement warranty – that’s something you won’t find with most other brands. Add user-friendly, straightforward installation with garage tools, and you’ll see why this kit made it into the list.

Speaking of the installation, I have to also mention the minor quality control issues. Don’t worry: it’s nothing too drastic, but some buyers do report missing parts (especially nuts, bolts – that kind of thing), dented boxes, and delayed shipment. However, given the low-budget price, this is still going to be a reasonable investment for a wide range of Renegade owners.

3. ATP – Best Lift Kit for Jeep RenegadeTrailhawk

ATP 35150001 Lift Kit 2.0 Inch for Jeep Renegade & Compass 2WD/4WD

For a lift kit, the most important thing is to maintain the stock ride quality and handling, ensuring a smooth experience for the driver. That’s exactly what you should expect from the ATP kit. It can lift the Renegade for up to two inches and accommodate pretty big tires without compromising on steering. It looks pretty great by the way especially if you’ve got aftermarket bumpers installed that beef up the SUV.

The mounting/installation process is pretty straightforward, and the package includes a very useful and helpful guide. Just follow everything the manual is telling you, and you’ll be done in five to six hours. My only minor complaint has to do with the cost. The ATP kit’s price is slightly above the market average. Not too steep, but you will have to pay a little extra for it.

4. Daystar Products – Best Lift Kit for Jeep Renegade

NEW DAYSTAR SUSPENSION LIFT KIT FOR 15-17 JEEP RENEGADE

This right here is the most packed lift kit on the list. With it, you’ll get two spacers for the front, two for the back, a pair of sway bar end links, control arm brackets, and more. No strut assembly will be required to properly mount it all. And let’s not forget that this is a vehicle-specific kit, meaning Daystar manufactured it with Jeep’s Renegade in mind. However, the installation process can be a bit challenging if you lack experience.

Depending on the exact model year and trim, the hardware might not be a 100% match. If that’s the case, don’t hesitate to contact support and request a replacement. On the bright side, once you do install the kit, you’ll be rewarded with impeccable performance. Besides, the spacers are crafted from premium polyurethane and won’t make any squeaking sounds, wear out the other parts of the kit, or be taken over by rust.

Buyer’s Guide

Alright, that’s it for my favorite lift kits for the Renegade. You could go right ahead, pick the one you like most, and order it. But I still recommend reading this Buyer’s Guide so that you know more about lift kits and what to look for. Easy installation, high-quality materials, and the lift height range are some of the most important factors. Read on to find out more.

Ease of Installation

A lift kit isn’t a new radio, GPS navigator, or cup holder that you just install in a minute or two. It’s one of the most advanced complex replacement parts for the Jeep (or any other vehicle, for that matter). So, before you buy anything, make sure that the Renegade is 100% supported by the kit. And I’m not only talking about the model, but also the make, year, trim level, and tire size.

It would be best if the lift kit was specifically designed for your vehicle. That way, the installation process would be a lot easier and more straightforward. My advice to you: look for “bolt-on installation” in the specifications. That means no drilling, cutting, or any other DIY activities will be necessary. Keep in mind, however, that no matter how easy the installation/mounting might be, it will still take you four to five hours, or even more.

Engineering and Material Quality

Best Jeep Renegade Lift Kit This one can be a bit tricky, as most regular drivers don’t know the first thing about checking the construction quality. That’s why the experts recommend only getting a kit from a popular and trusted brand. For example, TeraFlex and Rough Country have been around for decades and have stellar reputations. Plus, if the package includes a warranty deal (like a lifetime replacement guarantee), rest assured the engineers did a great job with the kit.

The material quality is much easier to check. Say, for the coil spacers, as long as it is polyurethane, you won’t have to worry about anything. With it, you’ll be able to avoid metal-to-metal contact, screeching sounds, and corrosion. The same is true for control arms and other gear, but they mostly consist of a metallic sleeve and rubber, not polyurethane.

Lift Height

Best Jeep Renegade Lift Kit That’s right: different kits provide a different height “boost”. Again, this won’t be hard to check in the specifications. Lifts are measured in inches, and the lowest possible lift is 0.5 inches. More advanced (and more expensive) suspension kits lift a truck or SUV by five, six, or even more inches. However, in most cases, that’s not even necessary and can actually create more problems than introduce positive changes.

For the Renegade, 1.5-2.5 inches is the most fitting range. Choose depending on how larger your tires are, as it’s the wheels that largely dictate how high the lift should be. Say, a set of 33-inch tires requires a 3-inch body lift. In contrast, for 30-inch wheels, a 2-inch lift will be more than enough. So, it’s always a matter of perspective, which is why measuring everything and planning ahead has its benefits.

The Price

Best Jeep Renegade Lift Kit Last, but not least, consider the price. On average, a decent-quality lift kit will cost you 250-350 US dollars, depending on where you live. Some folks believe that the higher the lift, the more it costs, but that doesn’t have a dramatic impact on the price. What’s more important is what exactly the package includes. Some brands only pack a set of front spacers, and that’s it. Others also provide spacers for the rear wheels, a set of control arms, and more.

And what about the labor cost – how much will they charge for that? Well, I’ve got bad news for you: the installation fee is pretty much the same as the actual kit. That’s why most auto shops/mechanics charge twice the price for the kit and the installation. If the price on the kit is 400 bucks, they’ll charge 800 for the whole thing. That’s pretty steep, no doubt about it. But hey – if you manage to handle it on your own, you’ll save a lot of money!
